    Common Types of Scam Messages

Prize & Lottery Scams — "You've won £1,000!" Legitimate prizes don't require you to pay fees or provide bank details to claim. Bank & Financial Fraud — Messages pretending to be from your bank warning of "suspicious activity" or asking you to "verify your account." Banks never ask for full passwords or card numbers over text. Government Impersonation — Fake HMRC, IRS, or police messages demanding immediate payment to avoid arrest. Crypto Investment Scams — Promises of guaranteed high returns on cryptocurrency investments. Romance Scams — Building fake relationships online before asking for money. Parcel/Delivery Scams — Fake delivery notifications asking for payment to release a package.
